Join us for a online information event to learn more about fostering from the comfort of your own home. During this session you will be able to:
- speak with experienced foster carers Debbie and Paul (you can hear from Debbie below)
- find out about the children needing foster care
- speak with social workers and ask them any questions
Please join the call on Zoom by 7pm as there will be a short presentation followed by a Q&A session. You will then get the opportunity to speak with social workers and an experienced foster carer. This event will last approximately two hours.
Before the meeting, please download the Zoom app which is quick, easy and free. If you have any issues joining the call, please email FosteringRecruitmentDuty@essex.gov.uk or call 0800 801 530.
Debbie Barker will be one of the carers joining us and she said: Gary and I began fostering in 2014 when our youngest daughter turned 18. We mainly fostered teenagers, our first arrived 6 years ago aged 12 and is still with us and is now heading off to university! For us the rewards are seeing the achievements our young people make however small. We feel proud to be foster carers and have shared some amazing experiences, memories that we will keep forever.
Elise will also be joining the call, she says: Hi, I’ve been one of the managers of the fostering and recruitment team since 1999. We are a friendly team and I would encourage you to attend one of our virtual information events. The feedback from people enquiring is that they are very informative and helpful in your fostering journey.
We look forward to meeting you virtually! If you have any questions or would like to know more about the event beforehand, please email or call us on the details above.
