Vicky and Jeremy Newell from Waltham Abbey have been fostering for 7 years and in that time have taken 8 or 9 young people into their home.
Vicky is glad that she completed the trauma-informed therapeutic training as she doubted her ability before that and fears that she would have missed out on the amazing relationship she has forged with her foster child.
“She has gone from a little girl who is often anxious and with low self-esteem to being much calmer in expressing her emotions. A very caring young girl is starting to emerge and I've enjoyed watching a little traumatised girl blossom into a confident settled young woman”.
