You, our fantastic foster carers, provide safe and loving homes for hundreds of children in Essex each and every year, and we are incredibly grateful.

As a council, we are committed to ensuring that you have access to the training and support you need to fulfil the role and are best equipped to make a difference to young people's lives.

In this section you can also find important documents including children's guides to being in foster care, medication workbook and fostering policies, procedures and guidance.

Visit Caring Curiosity Corner for advice and guidance from our team of clinical psychologists and mental health coordinators. In their YouTube tutorials, they share practical ways your whole family can improve your mental wellbeing and manage anxieties, stresses and other challenges.

Also, every month our consultant clinical psychologist Dr. Barbara Canepa shares resources and thoughts to offer support for children and carers.

Visit Essex Children in Care Council - Every child and young person in care in Essex is a member of the CiCC. The CiCC help support and guide children by providing various resources to help them stay safe and well. Children are encouraged to give feedback on their experience of care and are given opportunities to meet other young people at various events and activities throughout the year.
